Overview
- We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk with additional responsibilities aligned with a Production Clerk. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, inventory control, and production coordination within a manufacturing or warehouse environment. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, accuracy in documentation, and strong knowledge of shipping regulations and production workflows.
Job Duties
- Coordinate daily shipping and receiving activities, including scheduling pickups and deliveries
- Prepare bills of lading, shipping labels, customs documentation, and carrier paperwork
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against purchase orders and production schedules
- Track shipments, resolve delays, and communicate with carriers and suppliers
- Ensure all shipping activities comply with transportation regulations and company standards
- Production & Inventory Coordination
- Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor stock levels to ensure timely production flow
- Assist in scheduling production runs and coordinating material movement between departments
- Record, document, and report on daily production activities, scrap counts, and inventory adjustments
- Track work orders, monitor production timelines, and inform management of disruptions or delays
- Collaborate with supervisors to optimize workflow and minimize downtime
- Administrative & Quality Control
- Maintain accurate digital and paper records for audits and traceability
- Identify discrepancies in inventory and implement corrective actions
- Conduct cycle counts and participate in year-end inventory audits
- Communicate production and shipping metrics to management
- Enforce workplace safety standards and ensure compliance with health & safety policies
Skills and Experience
- Strong understanding of inventory systems, ERP/MRP software, and shipping platforms
- Knowledge of freight regulations, customs procedures, and packaging standards
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate warehouse equipment (forklift certification is an asset)

- Minimum 5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, or production coordination
